July 6th, 2010 Dave Keller Band New Project www.davekeller.com Man, Its been a minute! I've been caught up doing web work and other work that I haven't even made an entry in over a month. So lame. Although my calendar is up to date I will try to post upcoming shows on the blog! I am glad that web work is coming through but I am also pleased to announce and quite grateful to join a new crew: The Dave Keller Blues Band. I've sit in with the crew before, but I was asked to be the bassman a couple of weeks ago and it's been great. We've had a couple gigs and they have been a blast. Thanks Dave. Thanks crew. Glad to be a part! Keep a look out! Would also like to take this moment to let you know some upcoming shows and events. This weekend I have the pleasure of performing with Dave Grippo on the 9th and with Bruce Sklar on the 10th. Check out the calendar for details. Also, The Manifestivus is also this weekend featuring Common! Not to be missed y'all! This IS the party of the summer and the weekend weather is looking great! Hope to see you out!

May 29th, 2010 Discover Burlington Jazz Festival June 4th - 13th, 2010 www.discoverjazz.com The 2010 Jazz Fest in Burlington, Vermont. What a good time. Sonny Rollins. Arturo Sandoval. What? I hope to catch some bigger shows. But I am honored to playing in some familiar crews as well as some not so familiar crews. I will have the pleasure of rocking with Movement of the People on the 5th, Sara Grace on the 4th, 6th and 10th. Playing a trio gig at the 1/2 Lounge with "The Truth" Dave Grippo and Max Bronstien on the 9th. Debut shit from new project -- Manual Moon: Brian McNamara, the fabled James Harvey, Dan Ryan and myself at the Fire House Gallery on the 8th. All crucial behind the scene jewels for your ears. May 25th, 2010 Sara Grace & The Suits Live @ The River Run Cafe Sara Grace & The Suits will be performing @ The River Run Cafe in Plainfield, VT on Thursday, May 27, 2010. 7pm show. May 15th, 2010 Double Header Weekend Grippo Duo: 1/2 Lounge | MOP: Higher Ground | Friday, May 21, 2010 Looking forward to next weekend. It's been a while since I've done a double header, but Friday the 21st, I will be performing with Dave "The Truth" Grippo at the 1/2 Lounge @ 7:30pm, then hustlin' for a much anticipated show @ 10pm with Movement of the People: Fela Kuti Tribute Ensemble in the Showcase Lounge at the Higher Ground. I know my calendar is out of order but I'm lettin' know now! Hope to see y'all there.

May 3rd, 2010 Costa Rica Images Set 1 Rio Toro | La Fortuna, Costa Rica www.jbobfunky.com/jbf_2009/photo.php These images were taken by Jairo, a kayaker on the run hired to take our pictures. He was a killer boater. He would go down the river, set up on the major rapids and capture the images. Although these images are of the best two rapids, the run was long with total of 47 rapids total. This is the first set of images I have managed to get together. Stay tuned for Set 2. Enjoy!

On the another musical note, last night's performance at the Higher Ground with Dave Grippo, Nicholas Cassarino, and Russ Lawton was awesome. Really a pleasure playing with those cats, so fun, so deep. We performed a tune of mine "Bring it Together" and it came off great and the boys loved. It was definitely a highlight for me and the night for that matter. Thank you guys so much. Another highlight was meeting and hearing Karl Denson, and his crew. Those boys have been a huge influence on my music and bass playing in so many ways. I've been a fan for years and love that crew. Thank you Karl Denson and the Tiny Universe band.

April 19th, 2010 Back in VT! Glad to be Home! I am back from the trip. Well, I came back a few weeks a go, but I'm just getting back into the swing of life bak in Vermont. I have been real busy chasing paper to get the funds back up from from the. Amy and I had a great time in Costa Rica but as that tune went "Back to life, back to reality...", its time to get to work. To the right is a pic from the trip. It was taken on my back of the palm tree above in St. Theresa, on the beach. Thanks for being patient with me to update the site. But in VT, the reality is great. Springs coming, river levels are up for kayaking, works plenty, and best of all music is happening. Some great gigs are coming down the pipe and all of you are required to be there. On April 20, 2010, tomorrow night, I have the honor to perform with great friends and incredible musicians Dave Grippo, Nicholas Cassarino, and Rus Lawton at the Higher Ground, opening for Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. Karl Denson is one my long time heros that started back in the day when The Greyboy Allstars getting started. What an incredible chance to open for he man and his band. I miss performing with the Grippo Quartet and these dudes. Its bound to be a ultra funk throw down not to be missed. Shortly after on April 30, 2010, Movement of the People: Fela Kuti Tribute band will be performing at The Loft in Brattleboro, VT. In the next couple of weeks I should have some time to add the photos from Costa Rica, hopefully add some video as well and make some modifications/additions so the my site. I hope all is well. March 27th, 2010 Coming To A Close Costa Rica Rocks My trip is coming to a close. It has been a blast. I wish I could have posted more but internet access was limited and most internet joints only use PC's(boo!). And with limited time I just couldn't post enough. But I did manage to make a lot of pictures to share. When I get home I will be sure to post the finest in the gallery. Thanks for trying to keep up with me. I want to remind everyone that Movement of the People will be performing on April 3rd, 2010 at the Old labor Hall in Barre, VT. I am so looking forward to the show and hope that you all rally to check it out. Show starts at 7pm. We haven't performed in what seems like ages. Looking forward to getting home and summer in VT. March 16th, 2010 Santa Teresa, Costa Rica Marbella Hotel Pura Vida. Pure life. The classic Costa Rican sentiment. Makes sense really. Most people here are real laid back and friendy. My current position is Santa Teresa. Killer beach town with tons of great surf, cheap beer and fresh fish. This image was taken from my hotel which is up on the hill over looking the Pacific. A little pricy for most but what the hell, right? I'm on holiday as the Brits say. I hope all is well on the VT front and looking forward to some up coming gigs in April. See y'all soon!

March 9th, 2010 Costa Rica Mang! Tropics: First Encounter On Wednesday I embark on a journey to Costa Rica! Very stoked indeed and very needed I might add. This will mark my first experience in a tropical climate where the jungle meets the ocean. The plans are simple, surf, chill, surf, eat, surf, well you get the picture. I'm also going to also be traveling into the jungle, checking out volcanoes and rivers, all the while taking pictures of everything, so come back to check the latest pics. Hopefully I'll have some time and a place to post them while I'm there. Back in town in April, I'm really looking forward to the Movement of the People: Fela Kuti Tribute Ensemble performance in Barre, VT at the Old Labor Hall on April 3rd, 2010. DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW! We haven't performed since December last year so we're ready! Hope to see you there!

March 8th, 2010 New Photo Gallery It's about time! It's been a minute since my last update but rest assured,I've been busy! Gigs are starting to roll in so keep a look out for new dates. In the meantime, I have spent a considerable amount of time the last few weeks creating a flash image gallery to help deploy new images better. Also spent some time on the home page and created small blog to keep all my loyal visitors informed, gigs, new photo's, interesting news, whatever!. The gallery is a work in progress and will evolve when I can spend more time with it. But since it's fresh and new and able to display the size I want, I hope to add more photos as time goes on! Any feed back about the gallery is welcome. Other than Upper Hudson images, all photos are original! Thanks and hope you enjoy!

January 19th, 2010 The Lay Low Down New Material Word Up! Laying low at the moment. The downtime is crucial for new tunes and inspiration. I have been working in the studio a bunch writing material for a new project in the works. So check back. Oh yeah, the copy of Small Steps, Big Thoughts that I sent to Denmark arrived and this is what the recipient had to say via email: "Hey, I just got the cd yesterday, and the music sounds great. Of course, there's quite a difference between hearing it on my stereo and hearing it off the computer. I'm impressed with how you almost play every instrument on every track on it. You must be a very creative and talented person. The artwork looks sweet as well. Now, with Vermont not being a state we hear much about over here, you and the other people I have met, who come from Vermont, sure haven't given me a bad picture. Very cool, laid back and intelligent people". Troels Rasmussan Vermont is good place the world! Thanks Treols, people in Denmark must be super cool as well. December 14th, 2009 Dude in Denmark Its a small world. Last week I woke up one day and checked my email to find that one kind soul purchased my album... from Denmark. I'm international! This fellow crossed paths with good cats and great musicians of mine Ryan Hare and Alex Wolston in Montreal while staying in a hostel. Some how he found Ryan's myspace page and navigated to my myspace page and dug the music. My shits going to Denmark! Thank you Troels Rasmussan. The performance of Movement of the People this last Saturday was off the hook! Thank you everyone who attended and for your support. On another note, I will performing with Sara Grace & The Suits on December 19, 2009 at Positive Pie. See you there.
